In 1996, Westcoast Sports Associates created the Roy Firestone Award, named after the nationally acclaimed sportscaster. Roy has inspired many through his substantial community service work, contributions to youth sports and overall passion for sports as an ESPN broadcast journalist. A fan and friend of Sports & the Arts, Roy brought us into the fold and coordinated the commission of commemorative artwork for each event. This year marks the eighth for our team and Samantha Wendell has once again been commissioned to create the original painting. Past honorees and pieces include, Cal Ripken Jr, Terry Bradshaw, Arnold Palmer, and Hank Aaron among others.
