Professional
hockey players and artists are two professionals a person
might not necessarily put together , but thanks in large
part to the Kings and the Kings Care Foundation, the two
are working hand-in hand to benefit our community.
Sports
& The Arts provides professional athletes and sports franchises
with art programs generated to raise funds for their charties.
These programs incorporate the sales of original paintings,
fine art lithographs and photography created by celebrated
artists.
Tracie
Speca, who founded the company, notes that she enjoys working
with hockey players because they are not only concerned
with themselves, but also their families and their community.
Her company normally deals with specific players that she
has developed a working relationship with over the years.
If a player get traded, Speca is sometimes able to generate
work with the new opportunities to give additional support
for charities across North America.
Speca
and artist/photographer Samantha Wendell form the foundation
of the company. Both based in Los Angeles, Speca often travels
to the East Coast while Wendell handles photo shoots on
the West Coast.
Both
photograph players for the art work, and then it is up to
the teams and players to decide who will be the subject
of the artwork. The teams and/or players then commission
Pictures, which begin the process of producing the artwork.
